columbusdispatch: Eighteen years ago today, Columbus residents shuddered with cold — as cold as they’d ever been — when the temperature dropped to a record 22 degrees below zero. The low, recorded at the National Weather Service station at Port Columbus, beat the previous record of 20 below zero, which had occurred on three dates. I remember this day! I ran outside without my coat on to prove that I could do it. After that, I thought I was invincible.
